Common questions
A breaker keeps tripping. Can I just put in a bigger one?
No. The breaker is sized to the wire. Put a bigger breaker on that wire and the wire becomes the weak spot, which is how fires start. The fix is usually splitting the load onto another circuit or finding a short. We'll tell you which it is.
Half my outlets went dead but no breaker tripped. What happened?
Usually a tripped GFCI somewhere upstream (check the bathroom, garage, kitchen and outside outlets) or a loose connection at one outlet that feeds the rest. If resetting the GFCIs doesn't bring them back, call us. A loose connection gets hot and it's worth finding.
Is this an emergency?
