Common questions
Can't I just plug the generator into a dryer outlet?
Please don't. That's called backfeeding. It can send power back out on the lines and hurt a ComEd lineman, and it can fry your generator when the power comes back. An interlock or transfer switch makes it safe.
Do you install whole-house standby generators?
